As a lot of you know, we had to take this loan to be able to complete the Masjid by the end of 2014.

Insha'a Allah, the plan is that this Ramadan SNMC will be debt free.

By the desire to create a meeting place for the Muslim community in Barrhaven, Ottawa, came the idea of founding the SNMC (South Nepean Muslim Community). A long 17 years journey full of sacrifices and hard work, adorned by your support and generous donations and crowned Insha’Allah by the satisfaction of Allah (SWT) and of our local community.

SNMC is an organization transcending all ethnic and cultural differences, speaking one language of the balanced Islam, encouraging the good in society and offering several social, educational and spiritual services for the benefit of all Canadians irrespective of faith, culture and ethnicity.

جماعة مسلمي جنوب نيبان بأوتاوا هي منظمة غير ربحية ذات توجه إسلامي معتدل؛ تُعنى الجمعية بتقديم خدمات دينية وتعليمية واجتماعية للمجتمع المسلم بالمنطقة، كما تفتح أبوابها في وجه غير المسلمين الراغبين في التعرف على الدين الإسلامي السمح أو المشاركة في الأنشطة الاجتماعية بالمركز الملحق بالمسجد ؛ وذلك بهدف ترسيخ قيم التآزر والتعايش بين جميع سكان جنوب نيبان

SNMC is actually a Masjid attached to a community and sports hall where volunteers, committing their time and efforts to the help of their brothers and sisters, provide many services in order to develop an open, integrated and mindful but also a practicing community.

The organization offers in addition to the rental of the community hall and basement for individuals and other organizations’ events; a large pack of services for children, youth, families and seniors.

SNMC is indeed a project that grows with the ambitions of its community. However, SNMC is not without its challenges.

We had to take an interest-free loan from several sources in order to be able to have enough money to complete the construction of the SNMC Center and Masjid back in 2014. As of the beginning of Ramadan 2017, SNMC has about $250,000 in loans that still have to be repaid.

We urgently need your support to repay SNMC’s loans.

In fact, there is a great reward for relieving someone of a hardship ...

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment; he who makes easy what is difficult, Allah will make it easy for him in the world and the Hereafter; he who conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in the world and the Hereafter; Allah helps the servant so long as he helps his brother; ........[Sahih Muslim, Book 35, Number 6518]

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه ، عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، قال : "من نفّس عن مؤمن كربة من كرب الدنيا ، نفّس الله عنه كربة من كرب يوم القيامة ، ومن يسر على معسر ، يسّر الله عليه في الدنيا والآخرة ، ومن ستر مسلماً ، ستره الله في الدنيا والآخرة ، والله في عون العبد ، ما كان العبد في عون أخيه " رواه مسلم
